Eighth graders taught third graders history Monday afternoon at the Greene County Historical Museum.
The museum buzzed as young students interacted and asked questions of the older students. Arthur Bardole is pictured telling students about drug stores and soda fountains.
Teacher Dave Bohnet has for the past three years involved his students in the activities of the Historical Society. Projects have included taping living histories, writing, updating displays, and helping with programs.
Bohnet started the project with seventh graders; when he transitioned to eighth grade, that class (now ninth graders) had two years with the Historical Society. Pictured is Naomi Long explaining button hooks.
Those years the older students learned well the material at one display and stayed there as the third graders rotated through the museum. This year, the eighth graders have learned about every display and presented the information as they toured the museum with the third graders.
Gina Brown is pictured at the kitchen exhibit, pointing out how things have changed in the way we prepare food.
